Hello. I'm new to the thread, I saw alot of abbreviations used, I couldn't understand a few. Please help me out, what do they mean and also suggest other abbreviations used: Connie - constellation Speedy - SPEEDMASTER Speedy Tuesday - ?? Why is it called so FOIS - ?? (I think this is the abbreviation) NOS - ?? Also Is there a short form of deville?
FOIS = First Omega in Space. Speedy Tuesday = Fratellowatches.com founder ROBERT-JAN BROER started this movement by posting Speedmaster images every Tuesday in 2012.
Speedy Tuesday: https://www.fratellowatches.com/speedy-tuesday-introduction/ FOIS: First Omega in Space NOS: New Old Stock (old inventory that is unused and in new condition)
Got it. Thank you. Also in WTB thread, found means the person has found what they are looking for right?
DON (dot over ninety) bezel A piece of metal ring with tachymeter insert that costs more than a new Speedmaster.
WTB means Want To Buy. The person has not yet found what he's looking for and is still Willing To Buy ;-) When it finally happens, the prefix is changed to FOUND instead. A bezel can cost more than several watches
This is just brilliant. So much history, learning so much with this thread. Shocked to hear that this bezel is so rare!
I think when you make a spelling mistake or something worth correcting, a Moderator might correct your post and write "FIFY" underneath. At least thats what i think it is.
Also: DNN for "Dot Next to Ninety" bezel. OHPF for "On Hold Pending Funds" POS for "Piece of Shit" OB for "Omega Boutique" OBO for "Or Best Offer" AD for "Authorized Dealer" DSOTM for "Dark Side Of The Moon"
On the funny side, the best I ever saw was ROMDS = Red Omega Mars Dust Syndrome Describing or related to the bad quality of the red Omega boxes, which deteriorated very fast...
So not only mods, but also "members" are permited to correct posts? Or is it that you only mention the correction in a comment below?
