I've only recently realized the frenzy (and pricing) around these 'rare birds'. #1. To my eye, this one doesn't seem correct at all. So not tempting at all. Take a look:-- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-ome...387543605?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item35dfc5b835Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network #2. On the other hand, this looks much better in comparison. One would be tempted but for the fact it ended 13 Nov:--- http://www.ebay.com/itm/32157965184...l?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=321579651849&_rdc=1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Don't mean to flog this topic but need to test my stuff, if you will. Your thoughts please!!
Thank you Neil! Yes! But #2 shows "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available". I've received this in an email before when auction ended early for a watch I was bidding on (and my bid cancelled). Checking #2 further, four bids were cancelled
Hi Mr Steed I'll add....I don't think I like the stamping & sourcing from Italy appears to be a bit of an issue with these nowadays ! Best - Neil
First one I don´t like at all and the second one is a bit more tricky, but I say fake too. The font looks too big and the general shape, especially the back looks off. Here´s one to compare, note the font and also the very centre section of the back of the link is very thin when compared to the fakes
Agree. That was easy for (even) me to figure out. If not original, then the craft is being refined and more caution needed with these In my case, a relative n00b, that means more questions Thank you ..... I will certainly need to take a closer look! Appreciate it!
wasn't one of these ebay lots the dodgy fake ones from Italy that got reported and then relisted a week or two back?
Good memory! There's a thread somewhere ... maybe. We just need to analyze carefully so not to be burned. The reason for my post
Sold at US$ 368. 9 bids (friends n family?? ). Even fakes at that price? Wow!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/231387543605Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Which is why, and I sort of understand, no 6 ELs are sooooo costly A good artisan could have a decent market, I guess.
Hhhmmmm..............I know this metal shop in Hong Kong.............hang on call from Hong Kong on line 1
