All of the racing dial Speedmasters, starting with the 145.012-67, are special in their own way. I have an original 1973 Mk II, and an Adam Lewis modded Speedmaster to mimic the 2004 Japan Racing dial model. Both good watches when you want something different in the Speedmaster lineup to slip on your wrist.
Racing dials are what led me to Omegas. It started with a Breitling ref.2030 Datora, then a Speedy MkII. And finally my crown jewel of racing dials, the Japan racing.
Japan Racing is one the best speedmaster dials ever made to my eye , along with the ST2 Ultraman.
