I’ve loved watches since I was little and always bought various digital watches as a kid and later quartz mechanical ones.
Firstly I’m glad about all the watches I’ve owned and sold and have no regrets. The most underwhelming piece was a Rolex 16610 and if I could have one of them back it would be a Rolex 1665 (which got too valuable to wear comfortably).
Just prior to the first lockdown, my last Rolex went to fund a late tritium Speedmaster and during those lockdowns, I really started to look at my small collection. Out went a Panerai 233 to fund a watch I lusted after in the 90s; a Franck Muller Master Calendar, and then a Seamaster 300 for an early Panerai Base as I missed having a Panerai, but not the complications. The Speedmaster is staying!
So, here, finally I feel I’ve got it covered (for now); Dress, Vintage, Daily. There’s also a couple of G-Shocks for gardening/car washing.

Nice collection. I too have recently settled on 3, while I figure out what my long term collection goals are.

With Panerai one simple one like that is definitely the way to go, nice set all up, shame about the 1665 but I know what you mean the money can take out the fun

I'm heading in that direction too. I have a few watches that I haven't worn except for the day I bought them. I'll keep three chronographs.
