·I just got a 166 0124 60s diver's watch. It is the second I have had in about 9 months. I sold off the other cheap when I discovered I couldnt get a bezel for it at a price much less than the value of the whole watch itself!
With this newly-acquired head, I also managed to get a VERY reasonable orig bracelet with a 10mm lug size on ebay. So I might like to wear this for a while. It seemed to work OK (it does gain 1o minutes a day but I might regulate this out) and didnt stop, and the rotor did wind the watch properly. But the rotor is very noisy. So i took it to a repairer who popped the rotor off and diagnosed wear on (I think) the part connecting the rotor to the winding mechanism, which he called by some generic part name. We decided that as the watch seemed to be working properly, it probably wasn't worth repairing just yet. So I continued to wear the watch for a few days.
Then yesterday it started being very erratic and suddenly last night, it stopped completely!
Cal.1481 parts seem to be plentiful and appear reasonably inexpensive (except case parts: that 1660124 bezel of course!)
I am wondering if anyone knows what part number I might need and whether fitting it is a particularly difficult or specialist repair please?
