For sale is a “His ‘n’ Her” pair of superb Seamaster Mariner IIIs from the 80s. Both come with boxes (incl. white outer card slips) and International Guarantee booklets - these haven’t been completely filled out, but both have been stamped by the same Frankfurt jeweler and are both dated October 8, 1987. In addition, the booklets have the removed bracelet links for each watch taped to the inside (see pictures below). The Mariner III doesn’t present itself in this condition very often, so to find a matchIng pair is something a bit special. The gents’ model is cal. 1420 and measures approx 27x37mm. However, it wears bigger than the dimensions might suggest due to the bracelet being approx. 24mm at the watch. It is currently sized with a fair bit of slack for my 6.75-ish wrist, and comes with 3 additional links. The ladies’ model is cal. 1380 and measures 22x30mm. The bracelet on this one is approx. 18mm at the watch. This one also comes with 3 additional links. CONDITION: Both pieces are in great shape and keeping excellent time (I’m not sure when the batteries were last replaced - the watches have been in my possession just over a week). Overall, the watches are extremely clean and sharp with just a very few minor marks on bracelets and case backs. There is some slight scratching to the polished top plates on both watches, but in most lights, this is imperceptible to the naked eye. Please note the scratches at the bottom edge of the gents’ plate in particular, but again, this is invisible in most shots...
