I have a family heirloom piece, that I would like to clean.
I have my doubts on the water proofness of the watch (although serviced 1,5 years ago). Before the service the crystal was slightly loose for example...

What are the best ways to clean such a watch without using wather?
I don't have access to professional equipment like ultra sonic cleaner...

Toothpick and a slightly wet cotton tip  (wet the cotton tip in some soapy water then squeeze it before using)

I normally use Ethanol with a q-tip and a toothpick to remove wristcheese etc. Ethanol is not too agressiver and disapears shortly befor damaging anything.

Sharpened toothpick, cut-down toothbrush, Qtip, and a lint free rag. Use plenty of magnification.

Ethanol? Where do you buy it? If your watch is known to be marginally sealed, I would not use any liquid (you can hold liquids in but you can't hold them out)

Ethanol doesn't destroy anything. Cleaned many watches with a q-tip dipped in ethanol and a toothpick

Ethanol is vaporized before it reaches your engine ;)

Ok Ok, you got me there. My gas tank doesn't like it. Nor my intake / fuel pump. Getting off into the weeds on this thread, tho
