How lucky can one be. Just found in a box of estate watches a UG Big Eye.. Took it to local jeweler to open and it's correct. Does need cleaning, although it works well and keeps good time. .However the watch freezes when the stop watch tries to pass 1 minute. Works fine until then. Starts, stops resets correctly up to 59 seconds. Going to sell, but need advice. Should I have it cleaned (movement only), or leave it as found. If I have it cleaned, what general area should I expect to pay. Local, long time jeweler quoted $800. Thanks. Jim...

Sorry I didn't add photos originally.. Will add a sales listing in time. Jim...

If you have bought with a view to sell, it will definitely go to a collector who would rather have the service done by the watchmaker they use. You wont recoup the cost of the service in the sale price. Furthermore the watchmaker may polish/work on the movement not to the purchasers liking.

Also, you gotta show some pictures

Within OF you should have access to all sub forums

Don’t use your local guy on this, it could detract value.

@Jim.c. , I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt as it appears you are new to forums. Forum courtesy is to post pics when you discuss a watch.

Also, you may not solicit sales offers outside of the sales forum.
