I also found it unreal. It kinda piss me off that I am just trying to buy a bracelet that is proved to fit the CK 2998 ( I even show them the pics ) and was rejected because it didn't say so on their database.

Exactly! Can't imagine buying a fit bracelet is harder then buying the CK2998, what a joke!

Btw the miCKey should have been offered with a bracelet. Omega missed a trick with this one. It looks gorgeous with a steel bracelet a lot
Better than a blue piece of dead croc flesh

Better or not is a matter of taste.
But Omega should have supplied both Ali and Steel in the box.

    Edit : typo

Agree ...taste is subjective, croc and steel would have been ideal.

If you're okay with paying another $1000, sure. But if both were included it would be a better deal than the moonwatch, and the moonwatch doesn't even have a lumed ceramic bezel.

Some would argue 6500 is a bit too much for basically a speedy model with a 1861 movement, panda dial and a leather strap (despite it being blue).....

    They'd be uninformed, then.

1861 cal speedies retail for $5250 at boutiques. Less than $1000 more for a LE piece with unique strap, dial, and bezel made just for the LE? It's a deal.

Consider that Rolex is producing something moderately more complicated and selling it for $12200.

A screw and pin bracelet is north of $700 right now.

I think it's good value. But the normal 1861 speedy comes with a steel bracelet which is more expensive than the croc band, better heritage, better box, extra strap, tool...
Charging $1000 for a different dail, a cheaper bracelet, cheaper box?

Omega is famous for the number of LEs it produces. Any excuse for another mild change and give it le status and charge a premium.
The likes of Rolex have LEs but not to the silly extent omega does. It's a joke really which lowers my opinion of omega. That said, I will still buy a le from omega if I like the look not because it's an le. Limited editions and omega, it's a gimmick really.....

Silly Omega! I mean, who wants this CK LE junk and that childish Silver Snoopy? :taunt:
now, only if I can find a reasonably priced PO LE LM 2500...

Yeah, as others have said, different people have different opinions. I personally love the LEs that honor the history of the company.

Don't completely throw out the idea of putting the CK2998 on a nice Berenia strap

Yep same for me when i went to order the Titanium bracelet for the Apollo 45th....

They wouldn't sell me it as it is not sold with that option. Ridiculous if you ask me.

It's good to know that is best keeping quiet regarding which watch you are ordering for. Its a shame that omega plays such silly games.

Depends on boutique. Most I've been into in the US don't care what you're buying a strap/bracelet for as long as the fit is good. Seen plenty of people with OEM straps and bracelets on watches they didn't come with out of he box, in addition to everyone on here using the 300 clasp for PO, SMP, etc bracelets.
