Moved it out, its a polished case, lume's gone from the hands, dial looks tired, and I believe the 2998-3 should have had leaf subdial hands rather than stick as appear here. If someone bought it they'd have to find and match leaf subdial hands, relume the lollipop and alphas, and then they'd still probably look too new compared to the dial.

    Nice pickup. I can't tell if the s/n is 1776 or 1770. For a 2998-3 it should be 17761, 17762 or 17764

This watch is losing value by the second. LOL Wrong subdial hands, wrong dial, wrong movement. I think I'll pass on this one.

He just emailed me and the s/n is a 17762 which is in fact correct for a 2998-3. Now it just needs a dial and hands. I'll just go on ebay and get them. LOL

I don't know of a TSwissT appearing on a 2998. This dial looks like a 105.003. Maybe the seller was trying to say the "pilot" that liberated the watch changed the dial to remove the FAP dial so he didn't get caught.

i love the FAP connection based on....err....nothing at all apart from an obliterated case back.

Wrong dial, pieced movement (wrong parts). Most of movement (probably all) is newer.

Bridge has been replaced to provide the correct age movement.

Why? It is the correct s/n for a -3. You would have to have the correct movement to get that part.

Perhaps because the old movement was in bad shape. Keeping the bridge or part with the original serial is common. There are several diffences in the shape of parts between the older issues of the 321 and the newer , such as the 105.0012. For example the easiest to spot is the shape of the driving wheel assembly, A. We can not know for sure how much has be changed in this watch, but it is enough for me to move on to another, especially as the watch has several issues making it a dicey proposition to get into proper shape.

and further indication is that the regulator is a later 60s one, correct early to the left:
