Suspected that something was wrong with the luminous hour markers. Boy was I right. They’ve since amended their condition report.
Most people only view the condition report once when the auction catalogue first goes live, and make their decision based on that. Nobody really checks back and refreshes the page hoping for the condition report to be amended.
Interesting. At this price point, could more rolex collectors in the bidding that hate relume - at least, relume that is confirmed as relume. Certainly could hurt the final price
i am wondering if this is a game changer on re-lume. . or maybe just for something as rare as this when the re-lume looks good ? also. . .with the fullness of time (i.e. in 30 years) will anyone be able to tell the lume is not original?
As it is the case with most of auction houses, you buy the cat in the bag and you have no warranty of proof that you are buying a guenine and period correct thing.
