Last year I found a lovely watch in shocking state, and only now do I have it back to play with. 17765xxx serial so it fits in the tail end of the -4 run so it is probably the original movement.

Of course you want more, my computer belched a blue screen, probably due to the shocking power surges here in this neck of the woods. P1140458.jpg

I think it is an early radium dial, which would be a little late in this reference, no?

The bezel is brown also. According to someone more knowledgeable than me, Omega used to re-ink the bezels on service. This left this brownish hint as it aged.

I have never seen this before, but since I bought this I have seen three. (No I didn't buy them. I dont buy everything)

Very nice Spacy. All of the 2998s should have Radium dials. Early Speedys through the 105.002 should have Radium.

Interestingly the dial looks like a MK1 dial, an earlier model then what one would expect on a -4 , though difficult to say for sure without a better photo.

Ah, as I guessed already when I saw your avatar, it is a beautiful 2915 dial with light chocolate colouring! ::love::
Sometimes strange, how things happens. How comes this dial on an 2998-4? Nobody knows. Enjoy it and try to find a 2915 without the correct dial to swap it where it belongs to.

So, it seems I have been lucky enough to aquire a 2915 dial.

That is the closest to a 2915 I have ever been.

I found this photo in the camera from when I was in UK and it shows the state of the dial better. It is sort of greyish - brown mottled and unlike any of the dials I have seen on other 2998's. Here it is between two 2998-1's
