Hi - can anyone help me figure out what this is? I know it is called something like C12 T1 PC AM 17 / cal 321 but I can't figure out the exact model, name and year? Thanks in advance.
The dial has been redone, the serial is around 1946 https://www.omegawatches.com/planet-omega/heritage/vintage-details/14500/
Does it have a model name - is it is pre speedmaster or? Isn't the caliber 321 the same as in the moon speedmasters? Is it worth anything - before spending service on it. It is not working.
The watch doesn't have a name just a reference which is 2279. The calibre is a 27 CHRO C12 which as you mentioned is the forerunner of the 321. As well as the redial the hour and minute hands don't look right to me, very heavy looking and not as elegant as I would expect.
Here is an example of this reference with what I believe to be an original dial: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-2279-chronograph-cal-chro-c12.39706/ Compare this with the OP's dial above. You can draw your own conclusions. I know mine. gatorcpa
No question the dial was refinished. Watches of the era often did not have a name. So it is a 2279-4 Stainless Chronograph, as stated.
ok thanks - I see the difference and you are right; the dial seems a little heavy and not as elegant as the one you picture. Think I won't spend money on it getting it running then. Thanks again for all the prompt replies.
