    Evening everyone,

Hope you're all well. I'm looking into a ref. 146.010 Driver's Chronostop and I have a couple of questions concerning the cal 920 movement.

    1. I believe it is a Lemania ebauche, is this correct?
    2. Is it based on the 861 or the 860? Ranfft Watches says the base is the 860.

Any thoughts from the forum are most appreciated, thank you.

My belief is that the 920, the date version of the 865 was a separate movement, Lemania?, I'm not sure.

Hodinkee states they (920, 865) are not represented in any other watches and I really doubt an 861/321 heritage. My gut is a foray in a new direction that didn't catch on (people tired of counting to 60).

    You dive, brother?

    UncleBuck,

Good hearing from you, thanks much. I checked Hodinkee and I believe they're right about the 865 and 920 only being used in the Chronostop. Again, checking Ranfft they say the Lemania 1872 is the base for the Omega 860. But is the 860 the base for the 920 also? Interesting. I'm going to call Ranfft tomorrow morning and will report back.

Meantime, I do indeed dive, although I haven't in a while. Would love to get back to it. By the way, Uncle Buck is a favorite movie of my family. That man was damn funny.

    Have a good one.

UncleBuck is right that the 920 is the date version and the 865 is the non-date version.

Both the Chronostop movements share a lot of parts with the 860 family so essentially, yes the 860 is the base movement for the Chronostops.
