    Hi OPs,

I got a Chronostop for an ok to reasonable price

It has, however, issues with the dial which were not clearly visible in the advertised pictures: the dial is somehow grimey and "patinated "(see pictures) the remains of the lume plots are visible on most hour markers.

Movement looks clean though and it runs very accurately. Chronostop works flawlessly.

What would you do? Return or look for a replacement dial? Maybe a driver replacement dial for some upgrade?

    Or clean the dial?

    Best, Thomas

I could accept the dial but the movement looks pretty rough. If you can return it then follow whippetman01's advice and hold out for something nicer.

Yes I can return it and will do so! Have seen many nicer ones going over the shelf here in the FS section last year (more expensive certainly).

    Thanks for your opinions!

It works fine. No recognizable deviation in 1 1/2 days.

The dial looks almost oily? Unfortunate but it’s also missing the lume plots and the pusher for the chrono looks off.

I just got mine back today from a service.

Yes, its oily greasy in the middle of the dial and some flaky dirt between the hours. Some lume plots are there - "patinated" up to a Point almost not recognizable without a loupe...

The pusher is a bit off in normal position but pressed in when using the chrono.

Nice, driver Version with milanese bracelet  The Driver is my fav!

Just found an interesting fact: the caseback engraving is the ref of the driver version (145.010) but below it looks like a manual engraving of the non-driver ref 145.009.

So at some point it has been modded? Did someone doing this really pay attention to the small detail of engraving the "right" ref??? ::confused2::

I have seen caseback with both refs below but they were in the same size and lettering!

For reference here is my 146.009/146.010 caseback (the difference from the 145 is that it has a date, and slightly different movement). It came of the non-drivers model, I am unsure if these dual references came only off the 146.009 dial lay out, or both the 146.009 and the 146.010

Either way, I don't think yours is correct

Yes, thanks. This Kind of double-engraving I have seen frequently also for the 145 references...
