A question about Longines movements (forgive my lack of knowledge about watch parts) on the bottom left, under unadjusted it says 17 jewels, but in the CENTER of the movement it says 18 Jewels. What’s the story there?
I think that the 17 jewel versus 18 jewel markings have to do with tariffs. USA-bound watches seem to have 17 jewel markings whereas others are generally marked 18 jewels. Given that the 6474 posted by @minutenrohr also has mixed, jewel-count markings and an LXW import stamp, I would say that this contradiction is par for the course. Strange, indeed.
