Just had a browse through the catalogue for Christie's upcoming Rare Watches Including Important Private Collections auction. Not as impressive as the coming Phillips auctions but there are some beautiful pieces in there. From Omega there is a 2915-1, 2998-2 and 105.002. The latter two seem to have a very pessimistic estimate range but then the photo's aren't very good so there could be some good reasons why. The quality of the Phillips catalogues puts Christie's to shame.
There's also an Apollo-Soyuz LE from 1976 ::love::

Link below for anyone interested in having a look

Very cool. The FAP will double easily IMO. Interesting to hear what others think of the bezel on the 2915-1. Thanks for the share

Anytime an auction company uses the word "important", my reaction can neatly be summed up by this cartoon:

I'm surprised at the estimate for the 2998-2. It's so much lower than the FAP 105.002 and the SP 145.012.

The estimates are pretty much meaningless figures even for Christies.

Is that THE 2915 from the December auction?

    A FAP 105.002?

    A 2998-2 with a 19m serial?

Right. New, incorrect hands as well, it appears. Bezel too.

    You can trust Christies right?
After all they are an auction house.

To be fair, they do state clearly in thier T&Cs they are only agents and bear no responsibility.

He means the actual paper catalog (I think). I came home to it Thursday night. Oversized, lavishly finished and photographed, shipped in a black slipcase-like box...they do know how to apply the frosting.

It is a nice catalog. If you're considering bidding on anything, you probably want to order a hard copy.

Actually, even the pdf and interactive online versions of the Phillips are excellent. Nicely laid out and descriptive and the photos are very high quality and resolution. The Christie's photos often look photoshopped.

If all the important bits on the 2998 are wrong surely they can't sell it as a 2998 without disclosing that?

What about the 2915 should I put my house on the market or hold fire :)

I'd still like to know if it's the same 2915 from the December auction... I will have to check the Speedmaster 50 catalog when I get home.

Nice how now in addition to the usual lineup of "rare" Daytonas and Submariners, there's a whole lineup of Speedmasters.

Still only less-desirable (at least for the moment) Heuers available though.

It's not. Serial numbers are very close though.

Curious how much people are into the pulsations bezel on the 145.012 that's listed.

I have a good condition original pulsations bezel on the way (first one I've been able to find without a watch attached) and as a physician I'm biased into thinking they're fantastic.

@oddboy - agree with @flyingout - different serial and lugs aren't the odd shape that that one had.
