Chocolate Nipple

I received a call last week from a buddy of mine who had been hounding a local old rusty GMT as he called it. What was deemed “rusty” turned out to be chocolate and gold on top of that. I had first crack at the watch and after raiding the watch fund it’s all mine.

I’m looking for a chocolate and gold or silver font insert to replace the Pepsi insert so for now it’s a chocolate Pepsi. I wasn’t sure how I would like the watch but the gold against the brown dial really works for me. I think the gold case compliments the dial more than the stainless versions and ties the look together.

I had my eye on a couple other watches for the remainder of the year but sometimes the opportunity to buy certain watches at a great price is too hard to pass up.The dial is really hard to capture the color and it tends to change depending on the lighting.

That´s a great find you did there! Congrats!

I think I know what kind of insert that would look good on it

Hello,

very nice 'rusty' find LOL.

The dial is originally brown and not turned brown due to some influences.

I'd personally go for a one color+gold insert. And a new strap is an absolute must. Can you please tell me the serial? Could be around the late 2 Mill.

Kind regards,
Manuel

Manuel,

I'm looking for a brown and gold numbered insert and agree a new strap will look much better.

The serial number is 2,812,xxx dating it to 1969.

Thanks,
Scott

Nice find. I have three inserts for mine , the original, another older and a new one for general use and wear. New correct inserts are still available from Rolex. Best to purchase from an authorized dealer. Not Rolex direct, as Rolex will want to keep the old insert.
