I think you need tool 9028, I can loan you mine, just make sure you don’t grow too fond of it.

That doesn't look like it has a groove for the gasket, so may not need the tool, not sure if you need a special tool as I thought the special tools were to compress the gasket?
    Thanks, Michael

I have looked into this for you, The 176.009 does not have Brevet 2750/67 inside the case back so it is my belief that the watch does not require a crystal with a gasket groove so it should fit like any other mineral glass, it will still require a gasket but a plastic one.

    Thanks, Michael

I think these use a flat gasket and an L shaped gasket.

Get a new one or clean your old gasket up and reuse it, just be careful because it may be brittle.
Someone may be along to tell me off for that advice.;)

Hello! want to make an contribution how to change a crystal on Omega Speedmaster Mark IV

Sins i bought this watch from a Omega member i have been very happy with it, but i started to notice that it doesn't keep time as it should considering that the seller told me it had been serviced not so long time ago (if i can remember right it was done 2018). The crown was funky to turn, you will see what i mean later on.

The scratched crystal bothered me a lot so i stupidly ordered from some shady guy on ebay, it was totally wrong crystal (wrong text and numbers).

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/ome...range-replacement-crystal.87908/#post-1146269

Now after some amazing help from nice people from here i know more about the crystals the Omega Speedmaster mark IV needs. You can see below the right number on the package 603TN5237TA.

So this morning i decided i give it a try to change it on my own. My skills on watch repairs ends when it comes to take a movement apart and put it back together. Otherwise i have good handy skills.

So lets begin! I started to push the module from the case witch was very very hard to do, lots of pressure needed so i took two pice of wood to press it out i had them on the underside of the lugs.

    IMG_7186.JPG

My first bad feeling about the service was when i saw the cracked gasket. Totally old. The pushers felt super strange to push in the other one was better then the other.

    IMG_7196.JPG

So now i totally freak out i see some strange black goo on the crown! What a heck! Allso when i popped out the crystal the strange tar/goo substance was where the L shaped crystal gasket should be.

    GOOO

    IMG_7198.JPG

So the black thing is everywhere tell me please who does such work? The seller claimed he sent it away to this company VWS. I really dont know if the seller trick me ore he got tricked when sending it for an service.

So as you can see on the photos its a mess: I have started do search for a real crystal gasket to order. I totally 100% sure the black goo/tar thing Ghostbusters is in the pushers and in the crown.

I have tried to search witch gaskets i need for the pushers and the crown but cant find the answers.

So i need some big time help if some one have done it before changing the crown gasket. Do i need to do like on the Seiko 6105??

Thanks for now. I will continue to try to push out the strange gasket without a L lip whit out damage the chapter ring.

    Cheers!
