    Hello,
I would like to change my Omega Speedmaster with another Speedmaster more “vintage”.
I would like to know if you would do it, and how much money I should do add.
    Thank you for your advices.

    My Moonwatch has following features:

    year 1996
dial tritzio with short S and r
    bracelet 1498
    card warranty
    contemporary bezel

Moonwatch that I would like to swap

    year 1990
dial tritzio with long S and r
    bracelet 1479
    paper warranty
    vintage bezel (1977-1990)

    A few questions:

    1) Has either watch been serviced?
    2) Is that a dent in the top of the second bezel, or just poor lighting?
    3) What is the condition of each bracelet?

I will let other experts chime in, but I wouldn't think the value would be substantially different??? Maybe 10%? Just a hunch.

If you want to trade more "vintage", why not go for a 71-78?

    Why 1990? It's your birthyear?
Apart from that: I would take a 70s...
There you get the real vintage deal and they're not too expensive... (at least compared to vintage Rolex watches or pre-moons etc :))

    I own other Moonwatch (2998/3-145012/67-145022/69) and I'm looking for a modern/vintage Speed.

    1) Has either watch been serviced?
I don't know, but I think they have not been serviced.

    2) Is that a dent in the top of the second bezel, or just poor lighting?
    Yes, it is a dent!

    3) What is the condition of each bracelet?
    Both bracelets are ok.

Unfortunately I suppose the value is more different than 10%...

Am I wrong in saying that the 1996 has a tritium dial and luminova hands?

Personally, either one of these would lead me to pass on the deal. Both would make me run far (assuming all parts of both watches are in fact original).

With the damage to the second watch AND the extra asking $$$, I'd avoid any deal

I think that 1996 one has been evaluated 3500 usd, and 1990 one about 4700 usd...
So they are going to ask me 1200/1300 usd more.

I wouldn't pay $4700 for a 90's speedmaster... Honestly I'm not sure I would pay $3500 either, but in the lower half of $3k I would consider it. Personally I think if both of these were auctioned online, either one could go for more than the other depending on the day of the week. How much would you pay for a "S" and "r" that are slightly longer?

I think that 4700 for that 1990 model is very much wishful thinking.... Pass

If I'm in that position, for example I would try to change with something like this, 1987 with 1450/808.
Your 1996 is nice, put a 1479 on it and it will turn to that what you want.....

I agree the evaluation is a bit high on the 90s piece.

Honestly for the increase in price - you might as well hang on to your ‘96 and just buy a long S and R dialed piece later.

I am trying to sell a 1990 Omega Speedmaster with 1479/812 bracelet LOCALLY atm for about 3.350 Euro - and after a week it is still not sold...
So 4.700 USD is impossible too reach I'd say - at least for now...

Given the fact your Speedy has already a tritium dial don't think the difference should be that big. I love the C4 dial on my 3592 so think you are going in the right direction!

But for the 1990: it's a reference 145.022 and has a 861.... so maybe that makes it more collectable/desirable...
