    Hi Friends,

I have a chance to purchase a Centenary 2500. However, I am a little reserved about the dial being original. It doesn’t reflect the two-tone colors, and the index at the 9:00 does not meet the track.

    What is your opinion?

    Thanks, Bruce

It looks to me like they have different distances. Can you magnify the picture?

Shouldn't the hands be angled with two sides ?

Ronni is usually upfront about his watches. Should be no problem there...

Correct - they are faceted, with the 'pleat' running lengthwise down the center.

Hands are incorrect and fonts are close, but just a little off.

    You've already got a nice OT 2500 - is it lonely? ;)

Hands are wrong, dial is refinished I'm sure, which is why the nine baton is short (the end got broken when it was removed, perhaps). P.S. Actually, more likely the chapter ring is refinished just slightly off-centre.

But GET THE NUMBERS ::jumpy:: !!!!

Thanks to all for your feedback, and I welcome any more. I felt this was a very nice re-dial, and you all have confirmed my opinion. The seller, who is a real gentleman, said in the listing that the dial is original. I think he truly believes this. It is such a priviledge to have the eyes and expertise of so many Omega experts.

He might. It also might be the usual eBay semantics. Since the slab of metal is original, then technically it's not wrong to say it's original - it's just been re-inked. Can't say for sure what the seller has in his mind. I just know that to the collectors here, "original" means every aspect is original from the factory, even the ink.

Dennis, you are correct. The standards of our collectors are quite high. That is enhanced by our community and the expertise we share here.

When owner uses the term "the original dial", most here would assume that meant the dial has not been re-painted.

The seller seems to be a watchmaker. Follow the "me" link on the listing.

Still, I would have replaced the rotor with one in better condition.
