I was going to post a picture of James May wearing an albatros but I feel it is pointless going by the first post
...and, they don't talk back, ask you to clean anything up, or tell you what to do with your life. But, no matter how many complications your watch has, there are certain things it just can't do...
Seriously good spot. Couldn’t tell if it was a Sub on a different bracelet or some knock off. That bracelet is a perfect match.
Wow, that was fast...but to be honest I didn't really care about the watch...it was just, you know...young Julia Roberts, and a good excuse. So I apologize, and I'll TRY REALLY HARD not to make this mistake again.....and never with Jennifer Love Hewitt or anyone else OOPS DANG... Hold on.... No NO NO Now just stop it!
I cheated, tbh. I uploaded the picture to TinEye and sorted by the largest size copy I could find, and then blew that up. I recognized the Tag logo, but still didn't know the model till I went searching.
It seems a shame to bring this thread back to the topic of watches but I am all-things Accutron these days, and saw this pic of Paul Newman wearing an Accutron Spaceview. Cool watch, cool guy.
DaveK, I never thought of myself as “cool” until I slipped my newly resurrected Spaceview onto my wrist, today. Thanks for ferreting out that picture.
I’m for million dollar Spaceviews. I once sold a Rolex Oyster Daytona Paul Newman for $4,800.00 (Cdn.). I paid $2,500.00 for it, and was pleased with a $2,300.00 profit. I didn’t know what it was, and where the Paul Newman version would go. So now I think I’ll wait for my newly acquired Spaceview to do what the Rolex Daytona has done over the decades.
Back before cigarettes were harmful, Heuer offered this promotion. Customers who bought 10 packs of Viceroy cigarettes could buy the Autavia 1163V for $88 - vs $200 retail. Colloquially now known as the “Viceroy”. Mick Jagger apparently knew a smoker who lent him some cigarette packages to mail in... Not my watch, but I will pay the original $200 retail for one
