I managed to score this unmolested Omega Ploprof 600 with the MK3 dial from a person who has owned this watch from new. I met this person many years ago and he was wearing the watch at that time. I told him that if he decides to sell to give me the first option. Last week he called me and offered the watch. We met yesterday and when I saw and inspected the watch closely, it was in pretty used but good condition. The crystal has a small crack and needs to be replaced. He told me that the watch was worn frequently which explains why the orange minute hand has faded to a yellowish color. The case has minor dings and scratches. The original bracelet is still quite tight. The dial is okay with nice even patina. I will wear it first this week before I send it to my watch maker for overhaul and cleaning. Another great addition to my collection. My twin Ploprof
Nice catch, your foresight paid off in the end! I love these and am beginning to think they are a bit undervalued at the moment.
Yes, its very much under valued considering its unique robust design and purpose to be the ultimate diver tool watch during the 70's. Nothing quite like it and when I wear it, people take notice.
