Here is watch that I did not expect to find locally. Its a 1st execution Heuer Autavia GMT ref. 1163 powered by the cal.11 movement. The 1st execution or Mk1 can be identified by its 1 to 24 hour bezel and brushed steel hands with red insert. The Mk2 model changed to the even number only bezel and red hour and minute hands. All Autavia 1163 GMT have fluted pushers with a recess cut into the top side of the case. This watch is all original except for the pusher at the 2 o"clock which has been replaced. Anyway, a few NOS pushers are being offered on Ebay so that took care of the non original pusher. Dial and hands are pretty decent but the Pepsi bezel is near mint.
Such a great looking watch, congrats. A new crystal and you're set to go (or maybe a bit of polywatch)
When I get the new pusher, I will have my watchmaker overhaul the movement, polish the crystal and clean the watch case of grime. I am sure it will look awesome after the spa treatment.
What a great looking watch. If this is the original high profile crystal do not replace it. It is getting really hard to find the originals and nothing else looks right. Again...this is a keeper and a beautiful watch. Congrats. JohnCote
Great piece, enjoy! Vintage Heuers are on fire, it will likely be worth more than you paid if you ever choose to sell.
That sure is a fine looking Heuer! Congrats to the find! It's always thrilling to see those that just popped up from the sock drawer!
Yes it's the original high profile crystal and I did some light polishing to it already to remove the scratches. Thanks also for the compliment.
