    Hi Experts,

    Does anyone know the exact case size of the Zenith Cairelli CP-2 military watch? In my research, I have found 40-43mm (43mm seems to be more common). Sometimes the internet is inaccurate (shocking, I know). I'm wondering if anyone has actually measured it and can confirm (or has wrist shots in comparison to other watches). Thanks!

    I have read 43mm, but it seems to wear like it is 42mm. Here is one next to a Heuer that I believe is 41mm. [Sorry, can't figure out how to rotate the pic.] In any event, the Cairelli is a great looking watch. Military dials.JPG

    Hi E-diddy

    Maybe the Universal Geneve Cairelli CP-2 is something for you:)

    The UG CP-2 has a smaller case 40-41mm.

    The UG looks almost identical like the Zenith (exept the bezel).

    The problem is to find one it's like to find a needle in a haystack:confused:

    Best regards

    Adri

    By comparaison with a speedmaster (42 mm) the Cairelli seems very big on a small wrist I find, but I like so much this dial !
    Mine...

    It's a Excelsior Park Monte Carlo

    The case is the same as the Zenith Cairelli. Movement (7740), Dial and Bezel are different.

    I sold a friend's Excelsior Park Monte Carlo a few years ago and since then regret that I did not grab it for me.

    However, the date window still bothers me, notably compared with the classics, i.e. Heuer Bundeswehrchronograph, Zenith Cairellli Roma, etc.. These are nearly equally sized.

    But I prefer the bicompax like Zenith or UG to this tricompax....

    Hi Naidu

    Bulova Marine Star with valjoux 7731 is a bicompax but the case is also the same 43mm:(

    @Adri Thanks for sharing ;).
    For my information, what are differences between bezels? I noticed that the UG ones seems thiner than others right?
    It is important when trying to confirm originality of a pice ;)
    @E-diddy if you search for small cases, have look to CP1 (before CP2) like Breitling 817 and first Leonidas which are 38-40mm. ;)
    Very interesting watches... but not easy to find in nice and original conditions

    It is indeed!
    For me nicer than CP2 with a thiner and more balanced bezel/case/pushers.
    One point of attention is set of hands: I might be wrong but i saw many wrong set of hands coming from CP2 : bigger and longer.
    For me, the hour hand should be just long enough to slightly touch the 0 of "10" and minute hand should not go through the minute scale ;)

    @nicolas07 The UG bezel has thinner lines and numbers

    And i think the material of the bezel is also different.
    UG = steel // Zenith = alu (i'm thinking it's alu but i'm not 100% sure)

    @LouS is the expert

    He has all three:thumbsup:
    I have only two:(
