I am looking for a case back for cal. 561 case back 14393 and I was wondering if case #'s 168.004 and 168.005 would work for this case as well. I read that that was the # for later pie pans with a cal. 561 movement. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help... Neil

I think the 168.005 caseback would fit, as it and the 14393 are the same watch. The reference was changed to conform to Omega's standardized reference system about 1963 or so.

The 168.004 is a totally different case design. I highly doubt that one would fit.

If you are looking for case back for the watch in your pictures then you should notice that the case in your pictures is not 14393, it is more likely 168.005 which has dog-leg lugs where the 14393 has more common looking lugs. 168.004 is then the case with hidden crown.

Here is a picture of my 14393 Connie with Cal 561 for comparison

Yes I do see the difference, so I should concentrate on the 168.005 as that is the case back I need. Very helpful indeed. Thank you and I will be saving the link you posted for future reference.

PS. That sure is a beautiful watch. I am torn whether to get dial done or leave as is, as it has a certain charm the way it is now.

I got a 168.005 case back from watchco on ebay last year. They have a new name from a change of owners, but a swift email to abouttime-ch might be worth a try...

Thanks Mothra, I will definitely check them out.
And I think we agree about the dial kamak, I do like the look of it.
Again, thanks for all the info, this forum, I must say is great.
    Cheers... Neil

The early reference for this case was 14902, superseded by 168.005.

14900 (no date dog leg) is one of the most faked Constellation cases.

So if I find a 14902, it should be good for this case, or a 168.005 Correct?

    Yes.

The top case is the same for the 14900 (no date) 14902 (date) 167.005 no date and 168.005 (date).

Thank you everyone for all your help. When my search is complete I will post pics for your approval. I truly would have been lost in my search and probably would have ended up with a monster.
Cheers to all and again I must say this forum is the best.
