His aim was to raise £1,000 for the NHS before his 100th birthday. Just look how he's doing!!!!! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tomswalkforthenhs
Old Soldiers never die, they just fade aw............. What! If that's fading away, then I hope I'm like him at 99! Go Captain Tom!
Yea Tom! Seriously, our local Hospitals, food banks, etc are really stressed for resources right now. Please take some of that watch money and donate. Interestingly, here it is even possible to work with restaurants and the hospitals to buy lunch for staff. Be like Tom.
Amazing. Utterly Amazing. Its a huge thanks to him and every single person that donated! This morning when I checked he just hit the £5M Now I see its over £8M Faith in humanity still shines at times of need And yes to think his initial aim was to raise £1000 for either an iPad or phones to donate to NHS
Another interesting 99 yr old apparently, or nearly so- 98-year-old doctor in France refuses to stop treating coronavirus patients https://nypost.com/2020/04/17/frenc.../?utm_campaign=iphone_nyp&utm_source=mail_app
I believe today is the 100th birthday, and I hear he was officially promoted straight to Colonel as well! Congrats and Happy Birthday to Col. Tom! Such a good story.
He's now raised over £30M and had a No1 record and had a Spitfire fly past over his house this morning to mark his 100th Birthday and a telegram from the Queen. 2020 awards in the UK all have to go to Tom. Sir Tom Sports Personality of the year Pride of Britain Fund raiser of the year plus any other awards going, he deserves the lot.
Thomas Moore is a true Hero for fighting for our freedom in the Second World War, not for walking around his garden for the NHS ‘Heroes’ like the media would have you believe. The fact we are raising money for the NHS in the first place is a disgrace, especially when you consider how many billions the U.K. gives away in foreign aid. I would much prefer to see that money go to Charities that support ‘Real Heroes’ who have long been forgotten i.e ex military. ‘Sadly though no one would be talking about Thomas if he hadn’t walked 100 metres around his garden.
