New arrival from Italy. Condition is nowhere near @LouS and @MMMD fabulous cal 133.8 and 71 specimens, but good enough for me! :) Came with what was claimed to be the original box and warranty.

These Captains are drool-inducing. I've never been able to resist one. Verrrrry nice!

Nice grab! Yes, the shark-tooth markers are particularly irresistible.

    Thanks chaps!

Still on the wrist today - feels real solid and heavy for its size!

@LouS - you have a similar SS I believe? Does yours have a similar edge ridged caseback?

No. But I do have a different model in 18K gold with a 2542PC and that one does.

Thanks, that's real nice too! ::love:: Seems to support the theory that Zenith transited away from the Z emblem on the caseback from the Martel movements onwards.

These Zenith Captain are very attractive.

I have another version, in steel, hereafter with its big brother in the chronometer family.

Really liking these captains. What's the case size on the non-turtle variant?

It depends on the movement. The Cal 133.8 or 71 ones are a healthy 35-36mm. The later rotor automatics with the Martel movements - cal 2512, 2522 and onwards - are small and svelte - about 33-34mm. Next to one another the difference is about what you see in the picture with the JLC above. All of the watches in this thread so far are of the latter type.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably jump on one of these if the right opportunity arises. I do like to stay in the 36mm or larger range so I'll keep an eye out for a cal 133.8 or 71.

Another observation - those rabbit ear lugs cause the Captains to wear a bit larger than you'd expect.
