    Hi guys,
I always see such immaculate pieces on this forum so I thought I would ask about Cape Cod. I have used it on SS before. However, I am a bit wary of using it on solid gold or gold cap.

Is it safe to use on these and is there any technique one should employ? If anyone has before and after shots they could post, I would highly appreciate it.

    Cheers

IIRC, never use cape cod on gold. I guess it's the same for gold capped.

The rouge cloths work well. I noticed sometimes Cape Cod leaves little scratches.

Isn't Cape Cod intended for less-sensitive larger items like silverware, metal pots, vases, etc?

Blitz cloth. Works great, so long as you use it lightly.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I will try to get one of these over here in Europe and see how it works.

Just a question: Will I take off the sharp edges with these cloths, if I am too enthusiastic with my polishing?

Edges? Probably not. I would be concerned with gold plated or capped watches. The gold is rather thin to begin with.

Operative word is "gentle". The object here is clean off dirt and tarnish, not make it shiny.

    Hope this helps,
