Hi

I did not buy a vintage Omega watch for a while and i do not know the current prices anymore. A person offer me to buy this Omega watch for 400 Euro. Can you please let me know if it's a fair price? Please point any defects. He told me that the watch was serviced and run well.

Thank you for your help and here are the pictures..

What has your research shown? I'm too busy/lazy/swamped/ to research it, so....please educate me on this watch...thanks.

Please show many pictures from your research....I like pictures......kind of do a compare and contrast type of evaluation with lots of arrows and pointer fingers.

Looks like the H/M hands have been relumed and the small seconds hand probably replaced. Lume on the dial is moldy and partly missing. Case shows pitting. Otherwise seems ok.

One thing I don't like on cases is pitting. Tiny bits that are hidden are tolerable. Areas missing pieces are not and shown at the bottom left lug area

Screw in the balance bridge is not correct. Sitting too deep. If not the correct thread. There could be damage to the main plate threads. Should be sitting at the same height as the others.

Movement about 7/10 and regulator is centered, so thats good

Price is low if you want to buy it and movement if genuinely serviced will save you about a $250

My own research consist of searching similar models on chrono24 and ebay and find out the prices are near 1000 Euro. Anyway my opinion is that chrono24 has overpriced watches. Thank you for your inputs. I bought the watch but sadly after i received it i notice that although the watch looks very nice the "serviced" was not genuinely 🙁. So as usual if something looks to good to be truth it not 😀. My problem is that i do not have a proper watchmaker nearby so because the sale with no return option i think i will have to try to resell so maybe other person will have an interest.
Thank you again for your inputs.

You didn't pay that much for it, so just wear it for now. Another poster paid way more and didn't get anything close to what was advertised, so you came out better

I love the watch. Case has character, the dial patina is warm, nice and even. I’d spring for a full service and this watch will look even better. OP you have to know that vintage watches eventually require service (often as soon as the box arrives). If you are not in a position to do so, buy new from a brand like Baltic which offers new with a vintage look.
