    Hello folks.

While browsing through some photo folders on my computer I came across some pictures that I shot a good ten years ago.
Back then I took a watch apart and put it in cast resin.

This is how it looked like right after casting.

    And this was after polishing.

Makes a nice paperweight. I might wanna dig out the parts one day and see if I can reassemble it as I still have the case :D

    Cheers

Watch brands should be taking merchandising inspirations from your work...

That is one way to keep all the loose parts in one place!

That is amazing. I would love to have one for the office. Let me know when you start your eBay store.

Nobody has answered the original question:

I think I can: that is a Valjoux 7750.

    What do I win? ;)

In fairness, I avoided answering the original question only because I couldn't. I had hoped no one would notice, smarty-smart. :D

Well, it is actually a Chinese 7750 from a fake watch.
I would have sent this one to you if you had noticed this little detail :D

    Cheers

Well, even though it's years ago when I did this I very well remember that the polishing almost killed me.
The part came out with rather uneven surfaces which I had to flatten first. Then I took sandpaper and finally grinding paste to get it this clear.
