Hi there, I'm looking for some help, this watch has been in my family for quite a while and I would like to try and find out something about it.

Can somebody please help me identify what kind of omega watch this is and your thoughts on wherever you think it's genuine.

The wording on the inside says: Prestige Time Co LTD Swiss movement Paris Assembled in Hong Kong Adjusted One I Jewel ISA 1198.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

That's a fake watch, not an OMEGA.

    "Swiss Parts" on the dial???

Do you have a full photo of the movement?

This does not look like a real Omega..

It either says ''Swiss Parts' or 'Swiss Paris' it's been around since I was born which is about 25 years ago. Were fakes made back then?

I have never seen a genuine OMEGA watch with a finish like this one, a Hong Kong movement and a dial that has "SWISS PARTS" at 6 o'clock.

Sorry that I can't tell anything more pleasant, but it's a fake watch.

Where are you located? Do you know where this watch came from?

I'm from England and I found it in my attic of my family home amongst other old things and wondered wherever it was genuine, do you know which model or style this watch is meant to be replicating so I can compare them. Thanks

So the experts on these that look at thousands of watches a month will not know as much as a jeweler that sees a few older pieces a year?

The non omega movement is a sign by its self. Low quality cheap dial. States Swiss parts...

Common low end fake sold on street corners in the 80’s.

    Late 1980s, Singapore.

    "Buy fake Omega sir?"
"No thank you, I have a real one."

Ever the big spender I am now up to two real Omegas.

However I know someone who wears a fake Heuer after finding out how much her used and abused Autavia "Villeneuve" owned from new is now worth.

    Hi @Aceofhayds.

Your watch isn't really replicating any specific Omega design of that time, it is a mixture of different design trends of its era. You are of course welcome to take it to a store to learn more, but I doubt that anyone working in retail can tell you more than the people you'll find here.

There is a dedicated thread about fake Omegas here where you can see several different types - fakes has been created nearly as long time as the expensive brands have existed :)

Paying a visit to a local TAG Heuer AD a handful of years ago it took some time to persuade the salesperson that my watch was indeed a Heuer, and had to be wound by hand every day. Similar problem with a Rolex AD, but that was probably confusion from the Rolex bracelet it was on -- and had been for 40 years. If ADs cannot get it what chance does J. Random Jeweler have?

Fake watches have been made for the last hundred years, possibly more.

And since my post count is coincidently linked to the number of genuine watches I've seen, I can assure you that it's a rather unattractive fake.
