    Hello everyone,

I have resorted to this forum as im trying to buy a vintage omega for my husband, but cant tell 100% sure if this one is authentic or a fake:

I fear the dial has been modified, or maybe the strap-as on the omega database i cant find such a colored dial. The seller is quite respected, from what i read on various forums.
Kindly help me out on this, experts!

There is nothing glaringly wrong about the dial, and color variants exist.

My concern is the movement appears to show caseback rub and the caseback looks brand new inside.

It is the correct caliber for this watch.

I see no problem, except the movement's bridge: 751 must have "adjusted five(5) positions & temperature"

Dial looks fine, however based on the overall condition of the movement, bridge issue included, the case/bracelet seem far to nice and makes me think they may have been refinished.

    Photos from the listing.

Thanks for the input. By refinished- do you mean repolished?

Omega database shows only one possible option, typically there were multiple variations, dial, bracelet, strap, etc of any given reference.

The Omega database will not show dial variants or bracelet/strap options.

While the watch looks good the movement has several flags from a collectors view. It should be priced accordingly. I've got a feeling it's service dial and case with a donor movement and maybe hands. I doubt that movement came with that watch. I also question all the parts on that movement being original i.e. The bridge missing an inscription and has a bridge from a different caliber. It might be the exact same part for a non calibrated "cheaper" movement but it's not what is supposed to be there apparently.

At the end of the day the people on this forum tend towards no question all original pieces. The movement fails that and appears to need a service at about 200-280 usd.

If you like it and want to wear it the value is up to you at the end of the day. Be aware it should be serviced.
