Can we move on from the moon already?

I say this as a huge Omega fan and a huge space fan... can we move on from NASA and the moon already? I am nearly 50 years old and it was my grandfather's generation that went to the moon a couple times and then quit. If Omega made a SpaceX watch (the closest thing is an X33?) or even better an "Aspirations to Mars" SpaceX watch, that would be something I couldn't resist adding to my collection. Here are some ideas for Omega:
- Just Read the Instructions Men's Seamaster
- Of Course I Still Love you Ladies Seamaster
- Red Sportster Asteriod Belt Speedmaster Edition
- Dec 8, 2022 Speedmaster to Mars Edition

Legally, can you counterfeit your own watch?

Think China will be the next on the moon. Then push for first to Mars for bragging rights.

The "Moon Seagull"
Only if the USA discovers the necessary radiation shielding technology then sits on it for thirty years while the Chinese hackers and spies steal it and build a workable Mars mission vehicle.

Look at their military aerospace industry, built up exclusively using American jet engine and control systems the Clinton administration sold them dirt cheap, then bolstered by the technology they lifted from the American Airliners industry who built factories in China to take advantage of cheap labor. Capitalism is its own worst enemy, when the fat cats see dollar signs they throw caution to the wind.

Nope. Sorry, not going to happen.

(At least if by "we" you mean the forum or space fans )

To make it worse, my enthusiasm actually grew in recent years. I was 12 when Apollo 11 landed and still have my scrapbook of newspaper and magazine clippings. However, I didn't really appreciate the program's accomplishments until the 50th anniversary, when paying attention to the challenges and what they risked.

Now we have this to look forward to, perhaps a woman or two on the moon from this group:

Not saying you have to be enthusiastic too. But not over it yet.

They have their problems like every country but I'm also a fan of the people and civilization. They are doing something right.

See if you can find my wife and daughter in the National Museum of China in Beijing. Worth a visit.

But it’s useless in space because there is no gravity to spin the rotor:whipped:.

Came here for this

Back on topic: unprovoked, every night before my 3 year old’s bed time he pours over pop-up books about space, rockets, and rovers while asking “daddy, tell me more about astronauts.”

So no, not yet.

NASA's current plan has them back on the moon in 2024.

Probably not that soon. They didn't get the budget they need.

Are you sure? What if it was expensive and ugly? 😁

Aren't they building some sort of permanent base or facility or something this time? Also has the pandemic pushed back these plans at all? I can't wait to see this actually happen.
