I would like to put a new strap on my 1940's Omega. Below is a picture of the watch. What would you recommend? Thank you in advance
All a matter of personal taste of course, but if it were mine? I would look for a brown calf or buffalo strap, not too dark, and not too thick. Something like these (with white buckles) from Otto Frei (ofrei.com, about $15):
Thank you. I think I like the darker strap compared to the reddish/ orange strap. Anyone else have suggestions?
I've had much success with these guys ... http://www.strappedfortime.com/shop/ And these ... http://www.ebay.com/sch/soulsis7855...TRK:MEFSXS:MESOI&_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2654Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
+1 for Strapped for time. Great online or , as I have done, phone order service. Sorry, I am no help with your pick. I suck at style!!!
One more question......correct size strap for my watch is 18.5mm. I have an 18 mm strap on the watch now but it doesn't look quite right. Will a 19mm strap fit better?
Yes 19mm will normally squeeze in fine. Another good source of straps/bracelets - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Timesofplenty-Vintage-Watch-Bands
I purchased the Matt Croco-Grain Leather Rust 18 mm from ofrei in 18mm with an original Omega buckle in stainless. The price was right. If I hate the strap, i can always get something else Thank you for all your help!
