Hi everyone, I bought this lovely little Omega on eBay and was wondering if its authentic and the history behind it. Any info would be great Its manual wind and claims to be goldcapped. Look forward to hearing from you, thanks
Very nice ladies Omega in good condition. The dial could be mother of pearl or enamel and looks original, the case is gold capped. The crown is a later replacement, not a big issue. The caseback is stamped FAB SUISSE, so it was made for the French market. Our resident expert on Vintage Omegas should be able to advise on the movement and other details if I've made any boo boos. That is a Franken watch. No way a movement from the 20ies belongs in a case from the 50ies. My guess is that someone squeezed in a ladies pocketwatch movement in a gents bumper case Others may give their opinion to it
Oh no, that sounds bad Does this take a lot away from the value of the watch? I mean what would you say I should have paid for it?
What did you pay for it? Yes it does make it not a profitable purchase as not very sought after by anyone that collects vintage timepieces.
Well I paid just over £100 for it, so not the end of the world, I still like it So if someone asks when my watch is from, what do it say?? Thanks for all your help everyone !!!
