This is not meant to downplay the destructive power of water. This is nothing compared to the South and areas destroyed by disaster around the globe.

Our little town is flooded as a result of torrential rain and still frozen ground.

Our residence is OK. I have not checked my shop yet.

Still, have a look at how quick the back of our house flooded. The photos were taken during a roughly 3 hour period this morning.

I have added a few photos from last week, for comparison (the ones with snow and deer).

It’s always amazing how fast flood waters rise. I’m glad your house and shop are high and dry. Hang in there, brother!

I guess we can all add flooding to the long list of the Speedmaster’s capabilities.

As long as you don't move your arm through the flood waters too quickly you should be safe. Avoid dynamic pressures 😀

Looks like you are up high enough ... My uncle had a place near a creek in NJ that would turn into an angry torrent from time to time. Very scary.

I went with a vintage Rolex during the 2011 flood here in Brisbane

We just had another which was less severe in terms of flooding by a small amount but cyclone Alfred left a big chunk of Brisbane and the Gold Coast without power for days. @Trev was in his garage with a petrol pump draining it every couple of hours for quite a while and my parents’ lower level was completely ruined due to flash flooding getting under their slab and running down inside the house as it went down the hill they’re on.

The smell here is still bad as it’s just kept raining for weeks and the dams are still well above full, hopefully it stops soon.

Kids are up in Redland Bay. They're getting quite good at flood mitigation. Thankfully not affected as badly as others.

Here's hoping you get some decent weather, not too hot though, otherwise humidity will go through the roof.

Steve, you absolutely should not wear your Speedmaster if you can see or smell water.

Good to know you remain dry.
