This is my 1st ever forum, only new to the 'Speedmaster' world, but I have become addicted to the Omega Moon watch since finding 1 through a relatives belongings I acquired. Just wondering if you can over wind a Calibre 861

Just stop winding when you feel obvious resistance. Hard to accidentally damage it by winding.

How long after a wind, should it last, in hours approximately........
It probably hasn't been wound in around 20-30 years.....

Based on the scratches on the crystal, it's obviously been worn. If you don't know the service history, I would have it looked at before you start wearing it. Let us know where you're located and members will give you recommendations about who to use.

After doing some research on this watch, & finding out the historical significance, I'm really interested in having it serviced by an Omega specialist. Could anyone recommend a place to do this. I'm in Newcastle, NSW, AUS, but can get to Sydney if needed......................

Very nice original looking watch! You should get it serviced by a recommended servicer before winding it again. Once serviced a full wind will last about 50 hours but it's best to fully wind it once a day.
    Enjoy it and wear it!

I took it to a local jeweler recently, because I was unsure of its authenticity, that is how I got the photo of the inside of the case back. He said it had not been touched by another jeweler to his knowledge, but said the rubber seal was nearly perished. No water damage was present either.....

What price range would a service, from an Omega provider be worth with for a watch that is of this vintage 1974-76 ????
I'm guessing it hasn't been serviced for around 25 years plus........
