Hi there, I'm new at collecting watches and don't know a lot about the subject.
I've found an 1950s Seamaster at a good price here in Brazil, I'd like to know if any of you could tell me if it's a good piece, any opinions about this particular model...
The watch is listed as a CK 2848, I'm not sure if it's the right model though...

It's real but redialed and heavily polished which detracts from its value and collectible factor. Watch should have a Cal. 490/491 in it.

ccds -- I'd seen the watch myself (being Brazilian myself) and the price is also a bit high. USD 1000/ BRL 2200. The seller is quite reputable, though, and has a great collection. I'm sure if you keep looking you'll find something really nice at a better price -- but I'd be fast because the competition is always on the lookout for the nice odd watch available down here.
