Hello everybody. This is my first purchase of a vintage watch... the seller says it is an Omega from the 60s. Your advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

    Genuine, but with issues.
A bit too polished, rotor bush is worn so rotor is rubbing on the caseback, possible re-dial.

Case isn't stainless, & the gold has worn off.

Hello Jim, do you mind pointing out the "worn rotor bush" and "rubbing on caseback" on the photo for my learning purpose? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

One can only see the worn rotor bushing indirectly by seeing the circular wear of the rotor on the case back(metal on metal)

After disassembly, then you can see the worn rotor bushing.

You can see on the photo of the case back a bright silver ring. This indicates that the rotor has been rubbing against the case while rotating. A worn rotor bush would cause this as it would introduce a wobble on the rotor.

this is a very common model, there are still several hundred thousand of them floating around. Not very collectible. Spend some time getting to now a wider range of models and then make a decision. If it really is this model you want - wait for a perfect one. Won't take long.

here I am again... Actually I do not really want any specific model. It is a present and it has to be of the 60s. I fell in love with Omega vintage watches and now it is hard to change my mind and look for something else. I am considering also these watches:

    Omega Geneve 601

    Omega Seamaster 610

    Omega Geneve ME131.0019 mov. 601

Would you exclude any of them? Thanks for your advice.

    What condition do you want?
First one has a damaged dial at 3.
Second one has no high res pics.
Third one has a problem at three and if I am right the crown is wrong.

A fair condition is enough, the best choice among the three. The price is similar. I personally would prefer a Seamaster, but the third one is dated 1967 (or so the seller says) which is exactly the date I was looking for. I cannot judge however the conditions

I had noted that the crown of the third one is not original. What it counts most is that they are not fake. And that prices are in line...

May be some Seamaster experts will chime in that are more experienced with these Seamasters.
Personally, I would always choose solid gold or steel, but not plated or capped. But that is a matter of taste.
Have you seen this one: http://www.ebay.it/itm/222478716837Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
At first sight it looks nice. If you like it you should ask for better pics.

and concerning this, I am not sure if redial. The font looks a little bit thick.

It seems to have a damaged Sial at 12, and it show no pictures of the inside, but your are right about the chance to ask for better pictures. Thanks for suggesting it

No... the last two sellers do not accept Paypal payments. Thanks anyway.

The dial at twelve has two markers. I think these are just light reflections.
The dial probably has an issue at 58 on the minute track. Post pics if you get some.

Germans often are reluctant with PayPal. This should not bother you.
