1950s Seamaster with a very poorly "cleaned" dial which has removed all of the original printing.

Bought from a mutual acquaintance who is no longer on here. Very nice on the wrist. How's that big Healey (thread hijack alert!).

Actualy Chris I'm on the verge of selling it. The deal will probably be done before the end of the month.:( I'm a little torn about this...
And Stuart with the right amount of cash I think we could hammer out a deal.;)

Terrible news. What are you going to drive now to go with those 50s/60s watches? Priorities change but it will be a terrible wrench when I have to part with the XK. Am hoping to keep it for a few years yet but I will feel your pain when yours goes.:(
    Cheers, Chris

Thanks for your concern Chris. But I've been in Chicago for over two years now and car has been in South Carolina and not getting to enjoy it as much as I used to. Chicago is no place for a car like my Healey as you can imagine, so with the offer on the table it's time unfortunately.:(

And the crapy Chicago roads would kill it...I've already replaced two wheels on my Audi.

Rain is the least of my concern...they throw so much salt on the roads in the winter it turns them white and there are pot holes everywhere so big you need GPS to get out !

Is it worth fixing? Refinishing dial and chancing crown? It's cal. 500 and keeping excellent time and automatic is best I've seen. It cost me 100€. Cheers. Juuso.

Okay. Took me a while to got my eyes off. Maybe little bit too unusual for my style but I got your point. Only sky is the limit.
I'm not sure what to do with mine. Leave it as it is or buying new dial or finding someone to work with the old one.
After all I love my hooded lug and wear it everyday.
    Cheers. Juuso
