    Can anyone help with the year and model number of the watch , it was in my grandfathers possessions and am struggling to find a comparable watch

    It is a gold plated Seamaster ref 176.007 from 1970's. It is powered by Cal 1040, first automatic chronograph in Omega family.

    Very nice I have one like it, be sure to have it serviced if you are going to use it. The box is very nice mine is plastic.
