Can anyone help me with this crazy assembly?

I bought this watch because this assembly is very crazy and very strange.
The case appears to be from an old diver, but it has the Omega logo. Beta manufactured watches for Omega here in Brazil.
I looked for reference 396 833 and found nothing. I'm not sure if this watch was some crazy person's dream or a project that went wrong.
Could anyone help me?

Just because someone took a hit of acid and came up with this thing now I'm going to have nightmares as I can't unsee this horror. 😲
