This one is on eBay and was discussed in Recommended thread. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-Speed...8268?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item27d11105bc#Pic1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Take a look at these hands. I don't think they are correct, but I'm not sure. On such a nice watch, I don't know why they would have been changed, but.... All the watches in this 3 year span I have on hard drive have a lume fill line that ends BEFORE the line that would be the base of a triangle if that base line was drawn where the hand changes direction to come to a point. On this eBay watch, the fill line extends down below that baseline. What ya'll think? See the difference that is bothering me? Maybe there were 2 vendors supplying Omega? Here's the 1968 145.022 eBay watch in question. Here's a 1967 145.012 from one of our member posters last week.
as far as i know, fiedler ( hands company ) had different batches..... would not bother me at all. there are so many hands for sale out there. you will find whatever you need..... kind regards. achim
achim, thank you for the reply- do you think they are original? Have you seen this ttype on original Speedmasters?
Hands probably later replacements but not a dealbreaker. Condition of the watch is nice and comes with its original 1039 bracelet. Asking is a bit high for me.
The seller said the hands were an off white... Seriously after 45 years and no age? Plus they were changed. Transitional models came with the current style. I like the watch dial but finding hands with matching patina will be hard unless you take it from a close year vintage speedy. I like vintage things all original and projects arent fun unless u know or have parts available
