I'm 100% stealing this form! It will prove useful on many a message board, I believe.

I made this form in 2018 when I began working full time as an instructor at the police academy. I showed it on day 1 and told rookies that the filing cabinet for completed forms was the shredding bin. If you “Google” hurt feelings report you will find several. Most would not have been appropriate for the academy or for anyone who has and follows rules of gentlemanly conduct. This one is perfect.

My Illinois is back after a full service. Thank you Canuck!

This is a record for me. Canuck received it last week.

When I opened the box it had stopped running as shown below. The “Canada” folder is an old piece that was dropped off for a repair. I thought it was appropriate for the photos.

Many thanks Canuck.

A little antique shopping today, and picked up this 1928 railway approved Elgin B W Raymond with a sweet Montgomery dial. Needs new hands, but for $80, what’s not to like. I took a picture like they do on the Rolex forums 😁

Your photo needs work - you forgot to place the car logo strategically so it looks like you accidentally included it when in reality it's the true subject of the photo, not the watch. Need to show you're winning in life because you drive an expensive car! 😁

PS - lovely pocket watch 👍

I’ll do better next time with the photos, maybe showing the speedometer at 120km/hr 😁 I am winning at life though, my wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary a few weeks ago 😀

This watch « chain » was up for auction locally. I did not bid. Now that’s a mystery braid!

A “mourning” chain. Made of the hair of a departed relative, friend, or spouse. This was a major fashion in the Victorian era. Google “mourning” jewellery for an idea of all the forms it took. Jewellery mostly. Brooches, rings, bracelets, pendants, etc.

At the suggestion of @DaveK in February, 2021, this thread was inaugurated. First post was Feb. 22, 2021. This is the third anniversary of this thread. It now covers 184 pages with 3677 posts, and 148,763 views. Well done to everyone who has posted or viewed this thread. I’d like to have an idea of how many folks have been “converted”. (The obligatory pocket watch picture. My Hamilton grade 941 hunter. Railroad grade 940 in a gold filled hunter case.) The grade 940 was railroad approved. Because of the hunter case, the 941 wasn’t approved.

That’s a stunning watch movement 😎

And great idea, I’d love to hear from folks who became fans of pocket watches due to this thread or the forum in general
