Also, a gold train, except for the escape wheel. This little confection is only a jewel or three short of being a Masterpiece! Equipped the way this one is, you have to wonder why 12-size watches were not acceptable for railroad service! Of course, time service rules generally toed the line fairly uniformly by railroads, but time service rules still were known to vary from those hard and fast rules. Maybe there was a railroad somewhere that would have accepted this one? Very nice in any event!

How many is “too many”? I’ve just made an offer on yet another wrist watch which is coming up for auction! Like I need another watch? The one I refer to is a really nice Eterna electronic with the same Eta tuning fork movement in it that Omega used in their F300 models. Eterna called the movement “Eternasonic”.

“Another watch”, she said!
“You’re talking like my ex-wife”, he said!
“You didn’t tell me you’d been married before”, she said.
“I haven’t”, he said!

Tell her not to be concerned, as long as there is space for her in the house!😉

On an NAWCC tour of England in 2000, we visited a fellow who had 13 TOWER CLOCKS in his home. I asked his wife who dusted the tower clocks. She did the housekeeping, and he dusted the tower clocks. He ran a museum for these clocks out of his house. Business was slow, so as a side gig, he bought a cider press at auction, and sold apple cider in a roadside stand. The cider press sat outside. It was very large. Quaint guy!

My wife has more watches, shoes and clothes than me. Plus many purses and handbags (I have none of those… they are for the « man bun » types.).

Safe to say you are all in the same position as me.

I picked up this very cheap watch on the weekend. Gave it some daily winds and she is keeping time.

Will use it as a lanyard display piece. The engraving is sweet though. View attachment 1682636 There was also a (pill?) box with a pocket watch look. Must be from Las Vegas. They have a building like that in Vegas.

My only pocket watch. Was my father's.

Welcome to our little corner of the Omega Message Board. You’re in good company. I have several pocket watches in my collection that have come to me from ancestors. Watches with a family connection are always extra special.

@TexOmega could well have one more than his pocket watch collecting buddies. I only have 53 pocket watches. I’d cry in my beer, but I also have 70 wrist watches!

I think you said your wife is still with you? Clocks-wise, i’m a beginner! I only have about a dozen. But I can say that I keep nine clocks, watches, and marine chronometers running, in the living room! And my wife has about a dozen watches, most of which I have acquired for her.

I push myself really hard in order to "overcompensate" in other fields (no details to be provided).... 😁

...thought I had a photo...will have to add it later.
A New Haven Clock Co label is better than taunting us with 82 pocket watches, 68 wristwatches and 49 clocks and no photos. @Bernhard J … come on man!

I am getting a cheap lot of pocket watches later today. They were listed at auction for parts or repair. One is a Smiths. I have a Smiths so this could be a parts watch. Photos to follow.

😁 Okay, here is one bought fairly recently. About 1780. Quarter repeater on a bell and date. Nevertheless comparably very thin.

You want a clock also? This one was bought about 3 decades ago. Guess what it is 😎 😉

Bravo sir! All I can say about the clock is that it is less than 150 years old, looks beautiful. The Matthey had me look up Mathey Tissot. Different spelling. Thank you!! A few months ago I picked up this book at the old bookstore. I thought of you when I bought it. I suspect you have seen this one before.

I indeed have this book since short, in particular the front page appealed to me. Because I could tell my wife that she ought to be happy that our home does not look like this. And that my appearance differs as well somewhat... 😁

The embossed brass disk in the opening in centre of the dial tells me this clock was (or is still) equipped with an alarm. Inside the case at the bottom there should be an alarm mechanism. A wire connects the alarm mechanism with a lever behind the dial which releases the alarm at the appointed time. The hand painted tablet in the bottom panel of the front door appears to be original. So often these are broken, so this is indeed unusual.
