Sad morning, my sapphire sandwich purchased here has stopped winding.

The watch was not running at all and I wound it. Then I remembered I had turned on the chrono by accident when I grabbed the watch. This is the only thing I did differently from the norm. I was very tired.

Now it sounds like it is winding normally but the balance spring only starts up when I manually advance the time. It just won't wind and I can see the "lever" at the bottom clicking as I wind.

Any general idea what's wrong? I'm planning on bringing it in for service this weekend.

When you say it has stopped winding, what does that mean?

If it can't be wound anymore (the crown will not turn) that means it's fully wound and not running = time for service.

If it means the crown keeps winding and winding, never coming to s top, and the watch won't run that means a broken mainspring = time for service.

Pushing the start/stop button or reset button is not going to cause the watch to not work.

    Cheers, Al
