No doubt graphs like this have been done before, but I thought I'd measure the accuracy of my 1950 caliber 351 movement in graphic form as it wound down. I simply took the watch off, put it down face up and let it run until it stopped. Alas, I didn't think of making sure it was fully wound first and it stopped after only 36 hours, where in the past it has run over 38 (original power reserve specification is 42 hours). Otherwise, this worked pretty well, and I'll try it with my other mechanical watches when I have time. Has anyone else done this, and do you have a better graphing program than the simple freeware I used?
