Hi, I recently bought an used Omega SMP with the Quartz movement (1538) and recently realized the date change starts to move about 9 pm or so, completing the movement about midnight. Is this normal behavior on these models? I used to have a mid size Quartz SMP and don't remember if mine used to do the same or not.

    Thanks

Yes - the date change on this movement takes several hours. When I'm working on these I personally set it so the date is 1/2 way through the change at midnight, because I think most people don't really want to see the date changing so early in the evening as you are seeing.

    Cheers, Al
