Hi! Posting on behalf of a good friend. He had several dials sent away for cleaning and restoration. Amongst them was a cal (EDIT!!!) 551 Constellation dial. The shipment was lost, and he needs a dial to complete his project. Anyone out there who got a cal (EDIT!!!) 551 dial in hiding? Please let me know! Any condition may do! Links to dials up for sale will be appreciated! Let´s help an unfortunate collector buddy!
Hi! I am very embarrassed! For some reason I have mixed up the whole thing. My friend needs a cal 551 dial and not 505! If you have one of these as well, do let me know. If not I really and deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused and time wasted. , I had some correspondence with him on a 505, and for some reason managed to mix the two.
That will be a lot tougher. By the time the 2nd generation 551/561 movements were released in 1959, the ratio of date to non-date movements were likely at least 4:1. gatorcpa
